This is a new trend in IT, that you don't get an own laptop. You must provide your own. Sometimes they demand Linux on it and a VM isn't even working. IT work places have become hell.

The remote desktop situation at work has gotten even worse. I was trying to figure out a way how to transfer files and stuff to my normal local desktop but apparently since this is the banking industry everything's heavily regulated and there is to be no data leaving their premises no matter what. Even communication has to be through company approved methods only. So me saying "the stock market will go up because Trump won" is probably going to violate something even on this forum.

The remote desktop is a bare bones Windows 10 installation. Absolutely nothing on it. Not even sure how I'm supposed to code stuff. notepad.exe? Hopefully, since this is a mainframe environment, I'll actually be using SSH and vim but not sure at this moment

New job is corporate af. Being forced to be in front of a computer from 9 to 5 is not how I want to program.
I want to do whatever I want and work whenever I want and stay up all night if I'm behind schedule. That's basically what I've been doing for the last 10 years.

Like today I was stuck in front of a computer from 9:00 to 5:00 watching stupid training videos and then my reward is at 5:00 I got to go to my grandma's house and screw with her toilet cuz it was hung open and running and that wasted the few hours of daylight I had.

Now I'm just sitting here in the bathtub. Wondering what to do. I guess I could try to go to bed earlier and then get up earlier like at 5:00 or 6:00 or something I really need time to just veg out before working.
