Well not sure how productive I've been this past week. I don't know how I got on it, but I started wondering if I should move to node.js from python. I didn't know it was made by Ryan Dahl, who didn't even have a CS degree, but had dropped out of a phd math degree and briefly lived "with some students" in a small apartment in South America.

He found a job doing php work at a local place that he was able to quickly pick up and then move on the ruby on rails. I guess with he math back ground, he was annoyed with the typical paradigm of the time for "web apps" which was more or less each web request creates its own thread or process. And yes of course most of the web request latency is due to creating the thread on top of waiting for the db, and too many requests leads to too many threads and the system running out of memory, etc.

So he seemed to move on to writing modules/plugins for nginx which forced all async stuff. So I think that is how he got familiar with the async env in linux. Because it wasn't long after that he made the async wrapped around google's v8 javascript compiler and then demo'd it at the first JS conference which blew everyone away.

But looking at node.js code... oh hell no.

So that was a waste of time, but realized that after I watch many many hours of Ryan Dahl interviews and was even digging through the source code of the initial node.js version from 2009.

So two days down the hole just second guessing my choice of using python/django for my "stack of choice". But can't get the issues I have with it out of my head, slow, crappy async support (not that I want async anyway), always having to bend your logic around the ORM, and then the class based views which have a giant inheritance hierarchy that I can never remember but it is done that way so you have "reusability" but in the end you have to override a bunch of the methods anyway. And even AI coding doesn't like class based stuff. I'm assume because so much logic is hidden away in the parent classes, by default AI just want to inherit from the very parent class and then just implement everything custom.

But then I thought of golang, it is supposed to be simple, although I hate the syntax kinda. Created a task for claude code to convert the backend over, and after a few hours of research on what libraries to use, it got it off to the races working on that. So at least I'll be able to see what a golang backend might look like  kind of annoying. I should be working and not constantly just doubting a tech stacking

Surprisingly, I can point the javashit frontend to the "new" golang backend and it mostly works :ughlol:

But holy crap it is a ton of code. And holy crap FUGLY :hno:

I'll look some more at it tomorrow. But will probably stick with django :bleh:
Which means I basically wasted a week doubting everything :bleh:

Yea, node.js = :hno:
and now golang = :hno:

So now my mind is free and able to fully commit to python :snake:

Also was tasked with washing some of the bulky items from my grandpa's house. One of which was the ninja turtles blanket my grandma bought me back in 1990. I guess it is his favorite now :fine:

So spent all last week debating on whether I should keep using python or move to a different language.
Looks like this week I will be rewriting everything that claude code has done for the last 4 weeks :type:

Man I had a dream last night. Was with my wife and over at this other girl's house that we knew. And I think we were all younger. Anyway, someone dared the other girl to pee on me. I think I was laying flat on my back on the floor and ready to receive and she was starting to drop her pants.
But then I woke up.

Kind of annoyed today. Wife is having some random acquaintances over for dinner as, according to her, "we don't do stuff anymore". Well true, but still... :headbangg: Really don't want to deal with it. And dinner/evening is typically my most productive part of the day. So that is ruined :headbang: and I'm going to have to pretend to be happy and sociable for 1-2 hours :headbangg:

And even more annoying, it is supposed to be 50 degree out and 30 mph wind all day Saturday, which makes this like the third weekend I've been stuck inside due to cold/wind :headbang: even though the weather was calm and warm all week prior.

Oh also, if we are having people over for dinner that means I need to clear like a year's worth of mail and letters off of the table. I leave all the important mail on the table to deal with later :headbangg:

Honestly hoping one of their kids just pukes or craps on my floor and they have to leave early :bleh: Never thought I'd look forward to such a thing :headbang:

This can be reality you know, you just have to work on it a little.

Next time your wife demands some awful social setting like a dinner, tell her you want something in return. That is two additional younger girls, and a wet job.

Ok, everyone is done. Really didn't like it :die: Wife spent like 4 hours straight making food and stuff. I don't even see the point. I just tried to smile the whole time :tard: Their kids didn't pee or crap on the floor so they ended up staying for nearly two hours :( Kids did get cake crumbs everywhere though :finger:
They're a nice family. Hate to be a whiny bitch about it :fag:
