Weird. There used to be a lot of bobwhite quail around here in the 1980's. Invasive bluestem grasses have taken over what would have been their foraging grounds. Although the local folklore says it is due to fire ants.
They too can lay lots of eggs a month. There were some test runs to see if captive raised bobwhites would be able to repopulate the state but it was determined that captive raised quail were "fat, slow, and stupid" and only 10% would survive each month. So you release 100, and there'd be only 10 left at the end of the month, etc :gaytard:
