And for like the 4th Saturday in a row, it either rains, or gets cold, windy, and rains :tard:

Either way, been stuck inside for like 4 weeks.

Ah, svelte seems way better.

My AI girlfriend is telling me to watch these for a better idea

We had a slow rain that lasted for over 30 hours. Which basically meant that we got almost 6 inches of rain. So everything is super muddy and nasty and I haven't been outside in like 5 days.

Might go to the machine shop and pick up the head tomorrow. Might work on it this weekend. Might not.

True but if it is cold, or windy, or rainy or any combination of those, it somehow just doesn't feel right :fine:

Looks kind of good. What are those corroded flats on the head?

Also can you clean up the coolant cavities? Looks like it a lot of shit in there. Blow them with compressed air at least.

The corroded "flats" are from the casting holes on the block which are open to the coolant. And right below those flats are the casting holes on the head, those are open to coolant but don't match up to any holes on the block. I call them "casting holes" because I don't know any other terminology. But seems kind of weird, don't think I've seen random holes on blocks on cars that are open to coolant but don't flow any where.

I marked where the actual "flows" happen through the head here. Red=oil pressure feed. Green=coolant. Blue=oil return

Kind of don't see where coolant could be leaking into the oil at. But I haven't even looked at the block either. The "cylinder walls" are sleeves that are pressed in. Apparently that is typical of diesels. Hoping those aren't leaking :ugh:

In the top left corner there is some kind epoxy type stuff in that hole. Kind of weird, might try to dig it out or investigate. I was just impressed they cleaned the head as good as they did. There is no paint left on it, so not sure what they dunked it in.

Bla. It looks like the engine is a wet sleeve design and engine coolant leaking past the sleeves and into the oil pan is a common problem :tard: I thought wet sleeve was a modern thing.
Fuuu

I'm going to go pour some water in the block and then in the morning pull the oil pan plug and see what comes out :bleh:

You should check for scoring on the cylinder walls. If they are ok, then you should pressure test the cylinders but the head must go back on in that case.
