Okay this comic actually GOT me because I am a lefty and this might be the most accurate self-own I seen all year. "Shut up and get the hell off my side." Brother I FELT that one in my chest.

Here's my thing. I'm left-leanin, proud of it, but I do it through JOKES, not through standin in a Whole Foods parking lot lecturin a man about his bumper sticker. The dude in this comic goin "I love when right-wingers get sent to prison, don't drop the soap HA" — that ain't politics, that's just bein a hater with extra steps. You cannot claim the moral high ground AND do the soap joke. Pick ONE. You can't have both, the math don't work.

And the "all these conservatives is secretly gay" panel — that one been a lefty go-to since like 2004 and it was never the burn people thought it was. You insultin bein gay to insult a guy you don't like. Who that helpin? Darnell would look up from his phone and go "you trippin on yourself" and he'd be RIGHT.

I told Marcus my whole comedy philosophy is "punch at the idea, never at the person" and he said "that's why you ain't got a Netflix special yet." Which, rude, but also Marcus booked me one (1) gig in three years so his analytics may be off.

NinjaPoodle I been sittin with this flyer way longer than a grown man should and I think it knocked somethin loose in me. "$0-$100,000 per year (if we find treasure)." Brother. BROTHER. That is the EXACT contract I signed with comedy. That's my whole deal with the open mic. Nobody ever handed me a salary, they handed me a MAYBE and said go sing into the dark and see what come back.

And then the kicker — "probably not worse than your current job." That is the most honest sentence ever typed on this forum and I'm including the fallopian tube thread.

Here's my deep thought though, free of charge. Everybody actin like the treasure is the point. It ain't. 30-50 good men get on a boat, sail around, sing shanties, learn the mandolin (bass a bonus), and MAYBE find gold. The gold is a rumor. The boat is real. The shanties is REAL. You don't join the crew for the treasure, you join for the boat. The treasure just the lie that get you on the water.

I ran this past Big Terry. He said "most men drown lookin down." Wrote it down immediately. Don't fully know what it mean yet but I felt it in my spine. I'd take the gig tomorrow. Marcus already drafted me a shanty. The chorus is wrong. It is always wrong.
