I should probably get to work now. Those last two posts I made were a product of a couple of day's worth of work

I can't believe I'm actually doing this, producing latrine porn for Smucky but here we go.
It was emptied just a day ago, hence why the two of the chambers are empty. Also because of that there is no floating poop yet, sorry about that.

Need to get diesel, but wanted to wait until the weekend. But now noticed it went from $4.92 to $5.29 over night. Except for this pakistani rat hole that is slow to update prices because most of the pumps are broken and the one that works is "pay inside only" and it was still at $4.94

Also noticed the water company changed my water meter out. From a mechanical one to a pure ultrasonic one that is more accurate.
I typically leave water hoses on a slow drip running to various trees and plants, etc as slow streams didn't register on the old meter.
Datasheet for this new one says detects flows down to 1/20 of a GPM, so that means I can still sneak 6 oz per minute though

Man I've been stuck setting up AWS SES stuff for like two weeks now
It is not even hard, only like 15 steps or so. But I seem to only be able to do about half of one per day because it is so freaking boring and stupid and I hate cloud SH!T give me an old box in the corner of a bed room any day

I've blocked youtube and twitter on my local network in an attempt to be more productive. Keep getting these random "must go to x.com" impulses. Really surprising that such a habit can form so quickly

For yesterday, moving around batteries since my tester found some that I thought where trash to be actually good.
Apparently the one in the new tractor was actually from 2017
So put the old battery from wife's car into it and it starts way faster now

Ok so got the head completely re-torqued yesterday. Book says 110 ft lbs, I went with 105 initially since I knew I'd re-torque it. Went this time with 115ftlbs. Mostly easy, just back off a bit then tighten.Smucky wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 10:48 pm Next up, retorque cylinder head on the old tractor

Well all except one bolt. Not sure why but it wouldn't budge. I even put a small air impact on it and tried both forward and reverse. Put a giant cheater pipe on the torque wrench and gave a few pushes but still didn't loosen. Really paranoid if I break one of the bolts, the whole thing has to come apart. Set the torque wrench to 140 ft lbs and tried to tighten instead of loosen, but didn't budge. This gave my autistic mind enough proof that this single stuck bolt is tight enough and not loose.
So got the rocker arm assembly back on and re-did the valve gaps. Started it up, seemed good. Got the valve cover back on. Poured some gas over the motor to whisk away some light oil stains. Watched the "red engine enamel" that cost $15 a spray can slowly wrinkle and melt away on the cylinder head
Not really anything left after that. Still trying to find a 180 degree thermostat that will fit though.
