Previous research on far-right mobilisation has often focused on emotions such as anger, fear and hatred. However, Maria Darwish found a large number of images with a very different tone: beautiful landscapes, cute animals, families, and people living close to nature.

That is, fascism is presented as being “natural” – i.e. both desirable and true fact – through images and discourses of nature and natural beauty.
