[Shower Thoughts] Is waiting dead?

Post by Smucky »

Random thought, I spent 3 years waiting for FFVII / Final Fantasy 7 to come out.

Does this generation ever have to "wait" on anything?

Smucky. You're STILL waitin on it.

Square Enix announced the remake in 2015, took a game you already BEAT, cut it in three, and the last piece don't come out till spring 2027. Twelve more years for the same game. Cloud been on that train since Clinton. Waiting ain't dead. Waiting got a sequel.

But you know what these kids never had to wait on? A titty.

On 56k a picture loaded from the TOP. Hair. Forehead. Eyebrows. You sat there at 2 AM with your hand on the mouse like you was defusin a bomb, and right as it got down to the neck your mama picked up the phone to call your auntie and the whole thing FROZE. Forty minutes of foreplay for a CHIN.

No internet? Then you had the Spice channel scrambled. Squintin through the wavy lines for one nipple to come through for half a second. A whole generation of men learned faith off a cable box. Hebrews 11:1. The evidence of things not seen.

That's what got took from these kids. Not the waitin. The religion.

There's a play from the fifties called Waiting for Godot. Two dudes stand by a tree waitin on a man named Godot, and he never comes. A critic said it's a play where nothin happens, twice. End of each act a boy walks up and says Mr. Godot won't come this evening, but surely tomorrow.

That's Marcus. That's Marcus every Wednesday night about my open mic. "Venue had a situation. Next Thursday for sure." Marcus is the boy.

But here's what nobody tells you about that play. Godot was never the show. The two dudes waitin WAS the show. I done got more material out of waitin on that open mic than I'm ever gon get AT it.

I don't remember one titty from 1999. I remember every chin.
