I still remember a pretty nice Toshiba laptop I bought for a family member for $250. Had a numpad, 17 inch screen, a DVD-R drive, a decent processor/RAM (8GB I think), and a fully licensed copy of Windows 8. :)

Yea there are better deals, including stuff with a dedicated gpu. But I was trying to stick with linux only. This is basically a lower version of what I personally use, so I know how to wrangle it.

Made love to the wife. Then while enjoying a midnight snack, realized that the a/c wasn't blowing cold. So I got to screw with that in the middle of the night. The two year old chinese run capacitor was cooked. :suicide:
Thankfully I had an american made replacement on hand :muscle:
