I was doing some frame work on the house trying prevent flies coming in. This is gay work.
...but only when I do it.

Ok, deadbolt and re-key kit delivered. Figured I might as well mess with it today
First thing I notice is that I should have 5 bags of pins as this is a 5 pin lock
Oh well maybe two pins are the same length so they just put double in one bag?
Sure enough, looking at the key in the kit, there are two lands that are the same height. But they are for pins 1 and 4 and I already have a bag for pin 4
After some trial and error, looks like the unlabeled bag was for pins #1 and #4. Pin #2 gets pins from bag 4. And pin #3 gets pins from bag 5. And pins from bag 3 go into pin #5
The pins were all flush, trying take a pic jostled them up a bit.
The Schlage door knob and dead bolt are heavier than what is being replace. The deadbolt is way heavier. Got these massive bolts going through it, don't really see the point. Everyone already slams the door too hard. Now it will have even more mass behind it to shake the house
Once installed in the door, couldn't get the deadbolt to latch all the way out. Measured and seemed like the hole in the door jam was deep enough. But drilled it deeper anyway. But that didn't help
then realized that there was just a little wood chip that the bolt was snagging on halfway

Well documentary is disappointing so far. Or maybe that is the point?Smucky wrote: Fri Oct 24, 2025 8:12 pmAh cool, the channel 4 documentary is on youtube https://www.youtube.com/mXAgRMht7-INinjaPoodle wrote: Fri Oct 24, 2025 2:00 pm Smucky, have you tried this on your goats.

If you stare on the goats really hard for a few hours, the will just drop dead.
Here's the guy's proof that you can kill stuff with your mind. He says he killed goat with his mind and a hamster. And it is all on film. "But I can't find the film". Then weeks later, oh here's the hamster one. It dies but I'm not going to show you that part

Obviously it is complete nonsense and the guy is a scam artist.
The guy who says he killed goats with his probably just forgot to take care of them. Goats die all the time, you should know a thing or two about that Smucky.
What is real though are the fainting goats, and they are awesome.

I was going to do some farm work around 5:00 p.m. but then it started raining and I got stuck in the house. So now that it's dark I think I'll work not on the old barn but on the new barn. First step is to make some 2x3s out of this old 2x6.

Your tractor tires looks like brand spanking new.
Also, as you will make a new barn, you need to take pics of that. Are you going to make it big like erecting large I-beams?

And then paint them in used motor oil to offer some weatherproofing.

Yes ... well actually I used to dip fire woods into waste oil in order make the fire place start faster. I'd say it worked remarkably well.Smucky wrote: Sun Nov 02, 2025 3:33 amNoted. Kid #1 clogged the toilet 6 hours ago. No one tells me. Now kid #2 just took a dump on top of it and this is somehow my job to fix
