I remember. Especially in 2007 as Obama was gaining popularity. Any mention of Obama being hitler would invoke a wave of people responding with a single phrase of "Godwin's Law". It was almost like when people would post a completely retard question on a forum and everyone would respond with "ib4tl"

The sad thing is it worked, I remember censoring myself quite a bit in those discussions

Not sure what forum that was on, perhaps rage3d but searching on there only got a few hits of "godwin" and none of them involved me. Then I remembered the only other forum that is still around that I used to post on, genmay. Quick search on there, not many hits, but one good enough to bring back memories

Not really sure how the meme died out so quickly after Obama. The word Nazi basically means nothing now.
All this was brought to my memory after doom scrolling/browsing
/r/millenials/ for a bit yesterday. I swear it feels like there are two completely different worlds out there.
The left can throw around Nazi but that doesn't invoke Godwin's law.
They can question elections, and that is normal. Questioning joe biden's election would get you banned on youtube, facebook, twitter, etc But perfectly fine for the other side.

This one really hit, as both sides hit several points, but no side hits them all. And some are quite relative, like what is a "human right"? Or "labor power suppressed"? Outside of burger flipping, no "labor" happens in america any more
