I like the idea having spook horses on the property.

Got a mouse in one of the traps, but it didn't kill the mouse but just got caught with the hoop around the body. Had to kill the mouse with a shovel, what a mess. I need a cat that can do that kind of dirty work.

My theory is if you have cats, then you have rats just by the virtue of having food out for the cats means you are also feeding rats. I shot all the cats around here and just keep a good supply of rat poison out everywhere. Been taking pics of the cell tower going up about 1.2 miles outside my office window.
I don't know the height. But it dwarfs the electric towers which I know are 150ft+. So I don't, maybe 400ft? 500ft?
Got bored waiting on some night shots, so went plane spotting. Forgot how decent this "20x zoom" panasonic digi cam I bought back in 2009 is.
Lear jet at 30k ft I'd assume I assume a 737, somewhat lower, probably 15k-20k ft And top of water tower one mile away
Finally dark enough to get down to 1/2s exposure to catch the strobe
And right after a couple of good strobe shots it went into the red night mode
Then wait some more and now doing 5s exposures
And back to top of water tower

... but you can feed the cat indoors and it will also be an part time indoor cat. Also, one thing that is important cat is indoors and also about your property is that the smell of cat makes the mice really cautious and more reluctant to enter your home. This is a smell mice can smell but not humans.Smucky wrote: Wed Nov 19, 2025 3:15 amMy theory is if you have cats, then you have rats just by the virtue of having food out for the cats means you are also feeding rats. All I know is my grandma was slowly turning into a crazy cat lady. There were continually 5-10 cats roaming around the house and barn. And there were rats everywhere. All in their house, all in the barn, etc.NinjaPoodle wrote: Wed Nov 19, 2025 1:35 pm... but you can feed the cat indoors and it will also be an part time indoor cat. Over a period of about two years or so, I shot like 35 of them. Was going through a one gallon pail of rat bait blocks a year as well. But for the last year, nothing has been eating the bait blocks and there are no cats around so I think I won
My main issue with all the cat was the flea infestation and crap piles everywhere. You couldn't do any yard work without getting covered in fleas and cat crap

And now none of the drains were working. So what ever I pushed down ended up clogging the inlet baffle at the septic tank. So now have to undo the clean out tee in the back yard and let all the nasty water flow out there. Then tomorrow I will barrow my neighbor's pressure washer and hook up my pipe jetterSmucky wrote: Sat Nov 22, 2025 4:01 pm Woke up to daughter telling me that the toilet is clogged again![]()
Not too big of a deal, I usually have to do that every 18 months or so due to all the grease we pour down the drains. But this time it clogged up in just 16 months since the last jetting
