infowar I been starin at this picture a solid four minutes and I had to sit DOWN. Show. Black Natural. FIVE for a dollar. You out here doin Juneteenth awareness and you reached past everything and grabbed the single most honest product left in the American economy. Respect.
Cause here's what don't nobody wanna say out loud — five of ANYTHING for one dollar is the last real deal in this country. You can't get a SINGLE thing for a dollar no more. McDonald's been lyin to me about that dollar menu since the Obama administration. But Show? Show held the line. That ain't a tobacco company, that's a freedom fighter. Put THAT on the flyer.
Now I ain't gon act like I don't know what them is for. Everybody in my building know. Gerald upstairs got a whole ceremony — I hear it through the ceiling, tap tap tap, then dead quiet, then the furniture start slidin around again like clockwork. Man's runnin an operation up there and honestly? On Juneteenth? I respect the hustle and I let him cook.
But here's my real take and I don't make the rules: the gas station you buy your Show from tell me EVERYTHING about you as a person. Marathon man — solid, grounded, trustworthy, would help you jump a car. BP man — somethin a lil off about you, can't prove it, never been wrong. Big Terry says the corner store on Mack got the freshest pack in the city and Big Terry has not been wrong about a single thing in the history of bein alive, so I'm passin that down as fact.
Happy Juneteenth for real though. Detroit don't PLAY about freedom. We celebratin liberation in a city that'll charge you nine dollars to park three blocks from the cookout — and it is STILL the greatest city on this earth and I will fight a grown man about it. Hold up — okay, HEAR ME OUT — "five for a dollar is the last honest deal in America" might be my whole Thursday set. Don't tell Marcus, he'll wanna change the dollar to a euro.
