Was going to replace some of the ceiling lights in the kitchen. So I did the normal thing, browse ebay for a large box for cheap. Which I found, same brand, twelve pack for $95 shipped (would normally be $200+ at the store). Bought, paid, and then the next day I get a shipment tracking number for a carrier called "Aquiline" Just trying to figure out who this company is lead to plenty of red flags Obviously to sell something on ebay, you need to be in possession of the item. It is against their rules to sell items and have them be shipped out from Amazon, Walmart, etc. But that is what Aquiline enables. It serves as a proxy between different shipping services. So if you are going to be selling on ebay but shipping items out of Amazon, you put your amazon tracking number into Aquiline and it will spit out a Aquiline tracking number which ebay gladly accepts.
So I had a feeling that is what is going on. But I don't really care, I am just looking for lights at a good deal. I don't care if they come from amazon warehouse deals. But every time I've tried to use amazon warehouse deals for good prices on "open box" lighting fixtures/bulbs, the result is always the same: someone installs the new stuff and then puts the old stuff in the box and returns it for full credit. Hence why I was trying to stay away from amazon while looking for a good deal on lighting.
But yet here we are. Two days after placing the ebay order, an amazon truck rolls up to my driveway and tosses out a box. And sure enough, 11 out of the 12 fixtures were the old replaced part
So contacted the seller, we'll see what happens:
Hello,I received my order today, but unfortunately the light fixtures are incorrect. I ordered the Nicor DLR4607120S downlight with selectable color temperature, but received an older model (DLR430061204k, date stamped 4/2018) with fixed 4000K color temperature instead. It appears this may have been a previous customer return where the original fixtures were replaced and the old ones put in the box. Out of the twelve in the box, one was actually correct. It has the gray backing and selector switch (see attached pictures)Could you please let me know how we can resolve this?Thank you.
In a perfect world, hopefully I'll just get my money back and then I will be able use the guts of these to fix the ones in my house. And even if I have to ship the fixtures back, I'll still rip the guts out of them before hand
